A full body hasty harness for people I can do, but what about a dog? Have any of you ever had to rescue someones pet? Is there a hasty harness technique for our four legged friends? I searched but could not find anything. This may be a silly question, but since I got my first puppy 6 mo. ago, it got me to wondering.
In '99 I was on a high angle rescue of a dog - he jumped off the edge and landed on a ledge about 40 ft down. Not sure of the details because I never examined the patient packaging, but I think they took a duffel, cut four holes in the bottom, stuffed the puppy in with its legs sticking out the bottom, and zipped up the top with his head sticking out.

Crazy, I had been thinking about that this week. Anyways, solution I have gameplaned in my mind would be a bow tie webbing harness tied backwards with the chest attachment point on the K9's back (dorsal). I cannot find a good example on google and am away at and 80 hour US&R class or I could send you a picture from my computer. Remind me next week and I'll send you some pictures.

Tie it backwards wih the attachment on the dog's back. Tried to attach the photo but am working off of a phone.
Thanks for the link to the pdf, I saved it to my rescue folder. Anyways that harness does look like it will work, i am gonna have to try it on my pooch (if he will let me:). I grabbed the photo for everyone's viewing pleasure.

I am not sure how you got on with this, but I would get in touch with Rescue3 International. I know they are developing or have developed an animal rescue program. Alternatively, get in touch with the Wellington SPCA Animal Rescue Unit based here in New Zealand at http://www.aru.org.nz/ I am sure they would be happy to assist you.
