Also in the running for this one. My fourth this year. I know a couple of guys who work there. One stated he thought possibly 80 to be hired. I agree that it seems pretty straight forward. As long as they stick to their time-frame.

Did you guys understand the part about you must obtain a emt-b then at a later date when presented a emt-p. If you come in with a emt-b it seems like you dont need to obtain the emt-p.

i know multiple guys that work down there. one of them just left and the other guys seem to enjoy it. Seems to be a very busy department. I have heard from many sources that this county is very pushy when it comes to obtaining emt-p. They work with you very good on your scheduling and you can do the course at your home educational institute for the year or however long it takes you. The last class hired was 114 guys. I've been told that pretty much if you make it through, written, physical, oral interview and have a decent backround your chances are VERY good irregardless if you have one bit of experience. I also was told that they are down somewhere around 200 guys so they should be hiring a bunch.

Haven't received any sort of notification telling me to be anywhere at any time.
EDIT: I withdraw my objection. Just got the email. January 5th @ 1:00PM.
That's twice this year I got on here saying I didn't get anything only to have my phone blow up minutes later with the email in question. Good luck all.Last edited by Jasper173; 12-04-2012 at 09:34 AM.

Not sure this comment is terribly accurate. Like many of the departments in the Baltimore/DC region, EMS is the lions share of the workload. As far as fire duty goes; staffing, station response times, water supply and building construction factor into the aggressiveness equation. Some fires go very well, some, not so much.
The starting pay is below a lot of the surrounding jurisdictions and there are no guaranteed raises. Pay has been essesntially flat for 4 years now.
The schedule is nice, that part is true. But it is also not guaranteed.
Good luck to those that applied.

It closed a little while ago. Does anyone know if they're having a second test date? Looked like they went alphabetically for testing and my last name is near the end....

I tested yesterday, but the timeline called for two test dates and was just curious if there really was going to be another.
