    Sounds like this academy is now only 30 people, and the lateral are going to be used as "quick hire" people due to the safer grant mandating the dept have a minimun staffing. So if they have academy fails or any shortage of people on the line the laterals can be fast tracked to the line for staffing numbers.

    So most likely 30 people split between two concurrent classes? Good news, seeing as they screened 60 last week. Best of luck, guys!

    I'm currently waiting word. I heard from a buddy that he received his offer by e-mail around 10:50am so I'm wondering if all the final selections have been sent out and they're figuring out what to do with the rest of us? I also wonder if those not selected out of the 59 that made it past interviews will have first preference next academy?

    My understanding was they interviewed 76 and put 59 through the final screening.
