Time to warm the typing fingers back up!
Did anyone have any luck with LED station signs last year? We were denied. Just wondering if anyone got them, or is it a non-starter.

We were denied in Michigan. I asked for a portable LED sign.

Don't waste the time and effort on LED; not happening.

Come to our class with Kurt and find out what else is not happening! Register at Kurt's Website for Dec. 15/16, 2012 class. We still need some more people for it to be a go. Would love to see some of you there!

Onebugle and all,
Anyone have a previous FP&S cost allowance for a mobile fire extinguisher trainer? We're going to go after one this year and I've already got quotes from multiple vendors, but if possible I'd like to get a ballpark for what might get funded.
Thanks in advance,
Skojo

Gotten them from $8-15k depending on options, which need to be explained on the higher end. $11k was about the median package for live fire, slightly higher for laser versions.

We were successful with a fixed 2-sided LED sign last year. But the main focus was putting reflective address signs at all of the residences and apartment complexes. Lol, sorry Kurt, you know I'm usually the on that gets the odd grants.

Last year I requested 4 roadside type signs with changeable lettering, as well as bases and wiring, and received the grant. In addition, the grant also included a banner maker.
We had signs at 2 of our stations, and with this grant, I will now have signs at all 6. I think part of the reason that i was awarded was the bang for the buck for this type of sign v. LED.
Total of the grant was just over 11K.Train to fight the fires you fight.

Been thinking about trying for a FP&S grant for a long time, but never did. I guess I just never came up with a good idea for our fire district. Could use some help in idea's, if you would like to offer what you applied for and recieved would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone have a previous cost allowance for a inflatable fire safety house. We have tried in the past for a moblie fire safety trailer with no luck, we seen one of these inflatable style and seemed it might be a more budget friendly option. Thanks for any help!

That might be interesting TFD save for one thing, seniors 65 and over who are 50% of the high risk targeted audience. Don't think grandpa's wheelchair will work in there! Just saying!

Yes Kurt. I tied the storm devistation into the individual address signs. We added the LED sign to the new station. I believe its close proximety to all three schools in the city had a big factor. That allowed us to reach the biggest percentage of people daily. Kurt whats your thoughts on moble fire prevention trailers?
