New haz mat oficer, help

I have been tasked to take over haz mat. We are a small department (90) and the last Lieutenant dropped the ball for two years. While he did the required training to keep tech level, the task at hand is to come up with a plan to train everyone back up to same level. I need to have a plan for the most important things in haz mat and the hours that it would take to complete. I need help! the more I look into this the more impossible it seems. Where to start? Thanks

Also to help teach some of the classes

Contact your state training for help

Contact national fire academy for classes they can bring to you

Contact any private haz mat that can help with training

I am doing all of these. But, 2 years is a long time and "they" want a plan of action yesterday.

1. Identify what level everyone is at

2. Identify what training is required to bring everyone up to the same level

3. Identify who can provide the training

4. Set out a schedule according to required training and when instructors are available

I have made a plan that starts with Indentifacation. There is a ERG ppt from CANUTEC that I used for Station training. All station officers must complete this training in January. My next plan is DECON. Full decon, Zumro and 3 pool set ups. that will take the rest of January to get all of crew caught up. Feb is equipment training....keep you posted...
