Las Vegas FD

Does anyone have any info on requirments to be hired?
I could not access their site.

Also if anyone knows how their department operates, how is living in the city, etc
How often they hire: early I the year or late.
Also when they last hired

I'm looking to move from the Midwest to a bigger city dept. Any advice or info appreciated.

18, GED/HS diploma, emt-B at time of offer I think is the minimum for LAS VEGAS FD

Dept operates: Fires, ALS medical, and everything in bewteen? A little more specific?

Living in the city can suck at times, can be cool at times. It's hot most of the year, things are always open, lots of store/shopping everywhere so you don't have to travel far from home. Traffic gets busy around the same times as other cities.

Hiring is hit or miss with budgets/economy.
Last hired: they have an academy going on right now.

Advice/info: check out LVFR, CCFD, NLVFD, and Henderson FD. All depts in the vegas valley if you want to live here.

Just to kind of piggyback off of this-does the valley have any departments other than Clark County that do any type of volunteer or reserve to hire type of program? Thinking about a move out that way and already have some volunteer experience-just seeing what the options are to continue that out in Vegas.

Not a 100% sure, but I think CCFD is the only ones who utilizes volunteers (due to the rural areas it's responsible for). And the only reserve program I know of is in Boulder City, it's a few miles outside of Henderson. You would have to check Boulder City FD for info, cuz the last time I checked there was a testing process plus EMT-I to get in.
