This makes my day! Thanks Capt!
Hey folks, remember Virginia Beach, VA is taking applications ONLY over a 3 day period.
If you want a chance to get hired there, see the link above and get your application in.
Good Luck!!
Do we happen to know how many they plan to hire?
Anybody know what written they use?
A class started this month with 41 new hires. They are adding a company or two.
Unknown how many will be hired off this new application period.
Apply any way! You may end up getting a job.
Have my pre-application ready to go. Thanks for the heads up Capt! Anyone else making their way from Wisconsin?
My app is in now time to do some studying. I am traveling from Missouri however I use to live in Va Beach.
I was hoping to book my flight tonight...
Can anyone confirm the written test date?
On their website they state February 12th and on the application it stated March 22nd.
It's the 12th. Did you apply last year because I believe that was the date for last years? When I applied all my stuff had last years dates so I call HR and they said just continue and apply it will apply for the current process. All the dates for everything are under the hiring process part on the vbgov.com website. Hope that help's.
Do they train you to EMT-I now?
Just booked my flight and hotel. Anyone else going to be attending the 12th?
ill be going down
Heading down from North East Pa.
Driving in from sc....anyone apply and test in the past?
this will be my third time going through VAbeach process real good dept process moves along smoothly dept is very forth coming with info and steps in the process
Being your third time...what areas did you find most challenging? Any advice? If I may ask...
the written test is CWH firefighter test just review study guide and I like to brush up on the basics such as math grammar etc. As in any process be ready for the CPAT. But as for me personally last time through I got tripped up in the oral board. I just wasn't as prepared as I should have been. 100% my fault. I've taken numerous oral boards before but I just wasn't on my game this time around and I'm sure that had a large impact on me not making it past that portion of the process...
... that and I'm a white male from PA trying to get hired as a firefighter ;D
just kidding on that last part of course
Is anyone going to the Cpat orientation after the written?
