Hey all...My name is Dave, and i'm totally new to the fire service. I recently started training to join my local department as a volunteer, because I admire and respect what the profession does and I want to give back to the community.

My initial orientation/training should be over mid-February, then I can start my basic FF training and responding to calls. If all goes well, i'm planning on starting EMT-B classes around September. Wish me luck. I may be a little old to be starting all this right now (44), but i'm not in too bad of shape, and can still work circles around some of the younger guys...
