I know a couple of guys on the job there, and work with some of their department members on some regional projects.
CHFD is a good department, good chief, nice apparatus. They run routinely with their surrounding jurisdictions and have a good relationship with those departments. Not a ton of fire load, but a good variety of calls, including some action on I-95. They run out of two stations, staff ambulances at both, along with a couple of engines, a quint, and a brand new massive rescue-pumper. They also have a fairly active volunteer compliment.
Not sure if that helps or if I can answer anything else for you...Career Fire Lieutenant
Volunteer Chief Officer
Never taking for granted that I'm privilged enough to have the greatest job in the world!

Local 3612. Unknown how many hiring. now sure how many on a rig.
It is a combination department. I am not sure when they went paid but I had applied for the Chief's position back in the 1990's. I didn't get it. I was a Lt. when it was a all volley dept. back in the 1960's.
You can always call and someone would be able to tell you.

I believe every firefighter has at least EMT-I and their staffing is 3 on each engine and 2 per ambulance. I think I heard they are hiring 4
