Firefighter accountability app

Would like to hear your opinions on this app. We're a long way from inside GPS accountability systems that work. We all have smart phones (Well almost all). This is a tool that can save a life when we're working alone.

Developed by NYC Firefighters. Mandown app (www.mandownapp.com) provides and affordable, reliable way to monitor Firefighters in trouble. Once activated, the app constantly monitors for movement. When it senses ‘no movement’ the clock starts ticking. (Like a PASS device)

After 30 seconds an audible pre-alarm sounds. Movement will cancel the alarm sequence. After 60 seconds of no-movement, the app goes into Full Alarm. A voice message, text message and email will be sent out to the chosen recipients. A map showing location will be emailed and the location will be included in the text message.

I know on the iphone find, it can tell me the phone is in the house, but not where.

This is in no way meant to be a advertisement. We went out looking to create a tool that takes advantage of mobile networks. Right now when our PASS goes off there is a chance it will go unnoticed or worse ignored.

When we operate alone in a remote area or room and God forbid run out of air or have a cardiac event our PASS can help only so much. We sat around the kitchen table and decided to make this app. We almost all have phones and most buildings have good phone coverage so we know the signal will get out.

The app will give the last known GPS location. The idea is to let someone know where you are and that you're in trouble. Get the ball rolling quick and alert people you need help.
