I use these... Only I get to run Green/Green/Gold. (Whoopty-freaking-doo! :mad: )
No one is going to do it? Nobody?
Where is the;
- Courtesy (blue) light does not allow you to break any laws (speeding, stops, right of way, traffic patterns...) discussion.
-The whole "What does a Junior need to respond to an emergency for?" argument.
-Focus on your school work, drill at your station and learn the job so you can take your Essentials, FFI & FFII when you become of age mantra.
Nobody? OK, I will not either then. ;)
Good luck little dude.
I disagree with the people saying your to young for lights. I'm a RAM and have a fully lit up pov with so many lights it looks like a damn Christmas tree that being said I think hell get as many as you want. The guys saying your to young I'm sure there not the ones who get up out of bed at night for a bandaid call or a lift assist. Without the young people in my dept the truck won't get out and if lights get you there faster go for it. And just get a mini phantom it's the most used simple light I have one and it works fine
I think you have it perfectly bassackwards. The veterans who are committed enough to roll out of bed on the 3am BS calls are EXACTLY the ones with the experience and wisdom to recommend strongly against young volunteers using lights and sirens in their personal vehicles.
Given your obvious interest in red-light meat-beating, I doubt you will ever hang around the fire service long enough to lug more hose, chop more cars, hoist more grandmas out of the floor, reset more control panels, or load up more dead bodies than I have in 21 years. And guess what? About the last ten years of that have involved NO emergency equipment on my POV. I feel quite sure you could find a hundred users in ten minutes who agree 100%.
The insurance companies know what they are talking about. Boys between 18 and 21 years old are all boner and no driving sense. They have more wrecks than older drivers because of (duh) inexperience. Do you really need an explanation why veteran guys recommend against the use of red lights by the most crash-prone age group?

It's not just for butts either. I only get two days without a shower without AMB. With AMB, well,......
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Wackers like you just make me laugh my azz off. You think all your lights make you a super volly. OH MY GOD that is hysterical. Just so you know sonny boy, I am 54 years old and I have a better percentage of runs made than the young guys on one of the VFDs I run with and I keep right up with them on the other VFD I also run with. And I do the volly thing around being a career firefighter.
Those middle of the night calls see me more often than some of the young guys. So nice try junior, come back when you have some time in the fire service and we might even listen to the nonsense you spew then.
