    Default first time writing grant

Looking at writing a grant for a new tanker. The tanker we have has a 1972 tank but was put on a 2000 chassis and cab. Wondering what everyone does as far as year of truck on a situation like this. Also being i am first time i would love to get some examples of grants that have been excepted for grant dont care about type. especially for smaller dept. but would love all i can get.

Perhaps one of the guru's can give you a better answer, but I believe you will need to list the truck as a 2000 in the truck age table. Then in the narrative explain the age of the body and tank.

You will list it as a 2000. Shortest route to getting funded? Education, especially if you are first time grant writer. Several of us in here teach classes for first responder grant writing. Suggest if you are anywhere near one of our seminars you consider attending. My class schedule can be found here:

Go to Kurts class. I went this weekend in New Ulm thinking I've written a great grant Fy 2011 & 2012. I came home and am starting to rewrite 2 entire sections and modify all the others. Plus we are dramatically altering our request. There was one small oversite I made in the app that kurt explained kills many apps. It was worth the $350 for just that one simple tip.

Short notice, but Kurt has a class up here this week. I asked at the Auditor General's office and the class is acceptable use of relief money. Class is Friday and Saturday in Warren County. We are providing breakfast and lunch both days. We even have a chicken BBQ Sunday if you stick around.
