Good afternoon,
I am in the process of starting a new Tech Rescue team for my department. We have a bunch of members trained to the Technician levels in many disciplines. I am looking for some basic Powerpoint presentations to start everyone off on the same page.
Topics include:
Rope Rescue
Confined Space
Trench Rescue
for now... If anyone has any basic powerpoints they could share it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I don't have anything in the way of powerpoints, but would suggest looking at attending the NYS Fire Academy's first Technical Rescue Conference, which is March 8 - 10. Also if your in the Westchester area aren't there already 2 teams in place?
There is one program at the conference on starting a tech rescue team though, plus classroom and hands on programs in every discipline covered in NFPA 1670 / 1006.

Tech Rescue Training Opportunities?
Does anyone have any suggestions for technical rescue training programs offered anywhere in the country (preferably midwest or west)? I'm a training Lt and looking to attend some tech rescue training so I can bring ideas and techniques back to my department (specifically trench rescue if possible, that is our main focus in our MABAS region). Any information is greatly appreciated.

I don't know if Cali is too far west for you or if non ca residents can attend but the Riverside Cal Fire training has an excellent program for rescue training. I attended their LARRO course and it was very well ran, and the cost is reasonable too.

The best trench rescue program I have seen is in Michigan (and I have been to classes in at least 3 other states). Ron Zawlocki is the program manager; he's one of the most knowledgable trench guys out there. Plenty of real-world experience and a darn fine instructor too. Check their website www.musartf.org

While all you rope rescue cats are here, we're considering forming a team and would like to know your basic equipment list and maybe who some good vendors are.
