Grant amendment good after Period of performance?

To possibly save myself a phone call tomorrow asking this question I thought I would check with everyone here and see if you may know.

We submitted a grant amendment and it was approved on 2-12-13 and the period of performance ended on 2-11-13. With the grant amendment taking place after the period of performance, can I still use the funds or since the period of performance is over am I no longer eligible to touch those funds?

I will update this tomorrow if I need to call and specify otherwise hope someone here may be able to help.

You'll be fine. If your amendment included extending the performance period, you're all set. I also recommend calling and talking to your regional AFG specialist. They want to help you be successful.

Just an update for anyone who was curious. I was informed that I now have to do another amendment to extend the period of performance since I am past my current period of performance and I did not include that in the original amendment as I thought I submitted it early enough it would be approved before the end date.

Hopefully the wait will not be so long this time around on the amendment.

Similar thing happened to me last year. I submitted an amendment and they took so long to approve it that it went past the POP, so I had to put in another amendment to extend the POP. Just call them... it is usually no problem to extend. Too much paperwork for them to take the money back.
