Minimum Qualifications Supplemental Questions
At time of application, must have high school diploma or GED; be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid driver's license and good driving record (negative one or better driving points required). Must pass a written examination and a physical agility test; pass an extensive background investigation; be in good health as determined by a physician following a pre-employment medical examination with 20/20 vision or corrected to 20/25. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EMT B Certification (Virginia or National Registry). Military service or associate's degree or equivalent coursework at the bachelor's level. Pre-employment drug testing and FBI criminal background check required.
Responds to emergency calls and provides services including emergency patient care, fire fighting, hazardous materials mitigation, and performs injury and loss prevention duties. Drives and operates emergency apparatus; maintains fire equipment, medical equipment, apparatus and facilities. Performs other work as required.
