Not nearly long enough.
Bones can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the blue light in NJ does not give you any special privileges, just like in NY. Save the money and get there just as fast. I had one 35-40 yrs ago, but got tired of being told, while stuck in traffic, "Hey did you know your light is on?"
NJ recently changed their laws....it used to be a courtesy light that mean pretty much nothing. Somehow, someone got the State to make it part of the mandatory yield laws, meaning you are now expected to yield to blue lights.
So far, there have been a couple cases of people filing charges after being pulled over by a "blue lighter" acting as cops.
We actually had one of them down on I-88 some years back. I could figure never figure out how he got woman to stop, cause cops here don't run blue lights. Hey Bones, how do you tell the difference between the 2 blue lights? You know maybe your politicians are smoking the same thing as ours when they passed that new gun law.
Ya, cops don't run blue lights here either. Just goes to show what the public actually knows.
Drivers in New Jersey don't pay any attention to blue lights, red lights, fire, police, Ems, etc, they are to busy on there cell phones texting. Save your money and get a air horn !
