Just a word to the wise....please remember that as we as Background Investigators do our job we check your Facebook Account and Twitter. You'd be surprised as to the number of Candidates who are called into conference to explain some of their postings. So clean up your act when applying for a position.

In my non-fire job I work with hiring as well, and you're right. People are stupid. I have written off a number of candidates due to stupid Facebook posts, such as "Hey y'all, my name is ****. I like to drank." Yes, she put "drank" instead of "drink". Drinks too much AND can't spell. That hurts you for a secretarial job, huh?
And get yourself a grownup email address, not "sperminator5" or "teddybear18"."Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”

I'm pretty sure California recently passed a law prohibiting employers from asking your social media information both as a current employee or as a potential employee. I wonder how that's affected the background process.

Backgrounds
I'm sure California has it's rules.....I do Backgrounds for Sheriff's office now and in another State. We can search any and all records.
