    Default In Memorium...

One of my Brother Firefighters, Lieutenant Jerome Renz passed away Easter Sunday as the result of an automobile accident. Jerome and his family were returning home when they were struck almost head on by a vehicle that crossed the center line. His wife and daughter are recovering, with his wife having been released today from the hospital.

Lieutenant Renz was a respected member of the Wyocena Bureau of Fire, the volunteer fire department that protects the Village of Wyocena, Wisconsin. He was a good leader, an outstanding pump operator, and one of the calmest people I have ever known on an emergency scene. He was a mentor and friend to all members of the department and was eager to help however he could.

Besides being a member of the Wyocena Bureau of Fire he had been a past member of both the Rio and Pardeeville Volunteer Fire Departments.

Jerome was one of those guys that always seemed to have a smirky little smile on his face, a genuinely nice guy and a very good friend. The turn out tonight at the visitation and the support of neighboring fire departments for the funeral tomorrow has let us know that the Brotherhood is still strong in our area.

His family lost a husband, father, brother, and son...his firehouse family lost a Brother that will never be replaced.

    Rest in Peace Jerome.

Thanks guys, this is a sad day. We will lay Lieutenant Renz to rest today with many Brothers and Sisters from area fire departments helping us.

Thanks guys, it was as good as it gets at a funeral. Seventeen firetrucks and a slew of Brother and Sister firefighters on hand. The church was packed with family, friends and firefighters.

    Rest in Peace Jerome.
