BSO - Firefighter Reserve

Hey all,

Has anyone been through the BSO Firefighter Reserve process?

I applied around July of last year and received a conditional offer pending a background investigation and medical exam. My background investigation began in October and I have yet to hear back from them. I've called HR a couple of times but they just keep telling me to sit tight.

Does anyone know how long their background investigation takes?

Our HR department takes awhile to process people, usually 6-12 months average and on top of that our budget is pretty screwed up at the moment due to the previous Sheriff so it may take longer than usual. Best thing to do is wait it out and or apply to other agencies in the meantime.
