    Question Autism Awareness Training

I am looking into training for our department for Autism Awareness, but can find only "online" training. Needing something in a classroom setting where we can bring the instructor to us. Anyone know of an agency or something?

Thank you in advance for the information.

Have you contacted the Illinois Autism Society? You may also be able to get some help from the Evansville area.

BTW, I go by Olney a lot, my mom lives in Wabash Co.

I have a question related to Autism. I have Aspergers Syndrome (low spectrum autism) and I'm wondering how this would affect my future career as firefighter
Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.

That would probably have to be determined by the dept. you were looking to get hired by and any assessments you may have had done. I do have a friend of mine that is dyslexic that is on the dept. and a Paramedic. A lot of famous people have had Aspergers, so it's entirely possible. As I'm sure you know, everyone with your situation is different.

Really the only things that are noticeable is I don't make eye contact and I sometimes have difficulty making conversation or small talk.
