Hate to break it to you guys... But I'm pretty sure I blew all of you out of the water! BOTTOM 25% here I come!!!!

Good luck to everyone waiting to interview! Someone said it earlier "Seattle came up with some really good questions," THAT IS VERY TRUE! I wonder if saying "um" 50+ times scores you any bonus points?! If so I'm golden! Haha

Did mines yesterday...all I can say is I felt super confident leaving the room compared to the 1st oral board. Had the interviewers smiling and writing a lot down. Can only hope for the best and play the waiting game now.

GRNFT- there's absolutely no way to claim any veteran's pt as an active duty military member? I know the DD214 is the only thing accepted, but currently serving honorably and deployed into war area of operation gives a certain amount of pts up an extent right?

Maybe they don't want to offer a job to someone that might get IED'd.

It should factor in but big cities are all about the paperwork these days...need the chit saying your discharge was honorable. That's just my opinion, anyway.

I feel like this is 10x worse because of where it happened in the city.

I heard about this on the news this morning...It definitely puts a black eye on the dept. I know there is a much different way to approach the situation (calling the police) to get the homeless man off the memorial. From what I read, it seems they just got done having a few drinks also.

From their point of view, it was to defend the memorial of the fallen brothers and ultimately resulted in something much worse.

My understanding is that you need the DD-214 to claim the vets points. That was the case when I got hired, as I was on active duty and unable to claim. There was talk of changing that rule and allowing AD folks to claim the points, but I don't believe there ever did make the change. I would recommend contacting Colleen Lafferty at City of Seattle HR (NOT SFD HR) to clarify. She is an awesome resource and she will be able to handle this. Until the list is certified City of Seattle HR has control. Once the registry is established in May, it will be SFD HR. The Vets points will need to be accounted for, prior to the list being established in May. Sorry that was cloudy as mud, but the best bet is to go direct to the keepers of the list.

    Cheers, GF

A little subnote. Check out the probie in NYC that made a save at his first fire. The training you get at Drill School will prepare you. Will YOU continue to train after drill school?

    Thanks KTF!
Did you just recently graduate recruit school? Reading over the 2011 thread it seams like you all had quite the journey.
I made it through my second interview and felt pretty good about it. Getting hired still feels like a long shot, but I will continue to stay strong and positive!

    Default Recruit class

From the way it sounds I would expect them to offer another test sooner than later.

I heard today that they had a 3rd person drop out of there current academy.

Coupled with some recent off-duty activity that will open up a couple spots....

40 days, 3 hours and 11 minutes. It'll be here and I'll know exactly when. :P

In other news, you have about that much time to get ready for the CPAT. Yeah, everyone knows it's pretty easy but we want sub 8 times. If you haven't already, don the weight vest. Or if anyone needs a running buddy just let me know. I'm pretty damn fat right now (by my standards at least) so it won't be the fastest run but that's why we do it.

The max time limit is 10:20 for the CPAT. Conserve your air.
