Sign onto government jobs and check status!! I just signed up for my interview, getting excited!
I just signed up for Jan 4th. Best of luck everyone!
Signed up for the Jan 17. Now I just have to get out of Iraq before then and go buy a nice suit.
Anyone here from Miami, FL?
Interview on the 10th. Anyone from the Bay Area?
Tampa Bay area here(not the one you're referring to). I signed up for the 6th, but I am thinking of moving up to the 4th.
It's been a while since I've interviewed. This first panel is 3 FF and a 15 minute series of typical civil service q&a. Time to brush up.
General HR style questions. Nothing fire specific. But there is an opportunity to list your accomplishments/experiences/qualifications if you prepare smartly. Check out examples on the seattle.gov/fire page and look through the 2011 forum. There is some stuff in there.
Happy thanksgiving to all. Enjoy your time with friends and family.
Anybody have any info from the oral board prep classes for us out of state guys? Very much appreciated
A quick outline is:
Unknown number of basic civil service questions. I'd guess 4-7.
No give/take, just answer the question and move on.
The board for the first interview will consist of three firefighters.
I know some people care, so I was told it's seated so probably best to practice for that.
What do you mean it's seated?
Seated as in I've had some interviews where you stand and some you sit. I was told this would be sitting and got the impression not too far away from the panel either. It really shouldn't make a difference (at least it doesn't to me) but I'd figure I'd throw it out there.
Oh gotcha.. They say anything on grading? I've heard that you have to hit certain check boxes on their grade sheet, not really an A/B conversation.. Appreciate the info
They said something about keywords in the 2011 thread, but nothing really at the orientation. Just make sure to repeat yourself across questions, your answers don't carry. It's a pretty formal department based on living in the city and my few visits to stations so classic civil service questions and old fashioned values. Take that for whatever it means to you.
Whats going on guys, hope everyone had a good Christmas...new to the fourm as this in my first post and I have my oral interview scheduled for the 15th next month. Looking forward to the dreaded hiring process!
I hope you had a good Christmas too. My interview is also on the 15th.
Good luck to everyone.
Interview is on the 6th, one week!!! Best of luck to everyone
Thanks for all the information you have provided. Do you know if the numbers for 2013 (personnel, responses, etc) will be posted soon?
They should be out shortly. I think we were just under 130,000 for the year. Right around 1000 ff at the moment. Probably a little short of 1000.
Need to hire us some.
Have my interview tomorrow. Flew all the way from CA for this Seattle FD. Wish me luck!!
How was your interview buddy? I'm also coming out from Cali so cal on the 17th
