    Default Rosenbauer Commander Chassis

Has anyone taking recent delivery of one of these? If so what is your feedback?

We have one on order. The first one was just delivered in Virginia about 2 weeks ago, and the next one should be coming along any time now. Wish I could give you more...

My only experience is at FDIC where it seemed like the interior was fantastic. Seemed like they had thought of almost everything. It was very firefighter friendly, comfortable, and looked durable. The outside however... lets just say that the design will have to grow on me haha

I test drove one on a demo from Bonaventure Fire, it was nice.
Pros: View out of the windshield was nice and un obstructed. Compared to what I have seen in other custom cabs.

Small but a lot of space both for equipment and manpower.

Had a feature that if you were not using the pump then the engine would shut off and the generator would run your emergency and scene lighting. Reminded me of a refer truck.

    Cons:
They went away from a Spartan chassis and began doing their own. I am not saying it is a bad chassis but I wont talk highly about something new until it has been tested and it isn't new anymore if you know what I mean.

All in all it was a nice truck, the reason we aren't getting one is the price. I would look at the Spartan Legend series pumper if you are looking to save a little. I think we were quoted around 320 for the commander and 260 for a Spartan. Good Luck

Rosenbauer did not choose to leave Spartan. Spartan dumped RB when they decided to build their own chassis. RB wanted to have a chassis they built to compete with proprietary chassis builders like Pierce/E-1/ Ferrara. Based on the two prices that were listed you weren't pricing two similar trucks.

Agreed, too much price spread to be similar in construction.

Possible. They were both demos. RB probably had more on their demo than Spartan.
