    Default SCBA question...4500 -vs- 5500

Our Department is looking at a total SCBA replacement. One question, is there a huge difference in 4500 versus the "new" 5500's? The size difference is minimal, as well as capacity. Of course, 5500 is more expensive. Share your experiences please!

    Default Scba

When I ran our departments SCBA program we had up to six different types of SCBA's. If your current 4.5's do the job.....stick with them. I had us change to one type the Scott 4.5. Just because it's a little better doesn't make it a good fit in your department.....good luck.
