there's a question on the application form that ask

what skills , qualities and experience can you bring to a role of a firefighter ... now i what i can bring but whats the best way to format this instead of rambling on ?? so stressed out over a easy question

just wanted to know examples of how to simplify my paragraphs how the best way to sell my self

i was thinking along the lines like this

    introduction

    situation
    when i was working

    task
    to supervise the pool

    action
    to save the young boy

    result
my rescue was performed and the boy was safe

some star the star technique is a good way to go about it ...

i was thinking about throwing in a curve ball technique too , that's where something was going wrong and i overcame it ..

I've not seen questions like these on paper, they tend to be the types our City Personnel Committee members ask. I can say that, thanks to Oprah, in the last 4-5 years the same citizen review panel has seemed to really like the "Ah-hah" moment stories. You know, the ones where you explain the one incident or situation that made you want to be a firefighter, EMT or FF/EMT.

Or just state ...... water rescue skills and certifications, computer skills, team skills (as a member of xxxx football team 1111-1111), mechanical skills, etc, etc.
Train to fight the fires you fight.

agree any equipment you can run, computer skills, any past history that has not been asked about, like you were a volunteer at a camp and did medical duty for them, or on the speech team

anything that tells more about you

If this question is on an application and not an interview I would say list skills that you have. Not write a action story. That IMO would be for an interview answer. One thing I have always done is list skills that are listed in the job advertisement. Organization skills customer service etc.
