Default Where/How To Order Individual Set of New Turnout Gear

I am interested in procuring a set of new turnout gear for myself. I understand that fire departments (including my own) typically order gear in group/bulk orders from a supplier or dealer. However, i have reasons for needing to obtain my own personal set of gear.

Does anyone know where I can purchase an individual set of NEW turnout gear? Brand does not matter in this case as long as it's reputable (e.g., Globe, Morning Pride, FireDex, Chieftan, Janesville).

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

We use Fuego in Texas. I am sure they would sell you a set on your own.

You might contact some depts in your area to see who they use

    Most will sell to you

You can also rent if you do not need them long term

I am looking into purchasing my own set for teaching. I just called up our local Globe rep and he gave me a quote and said it would be no problem to order only one set.

We have used Globe at my vollie department for a few years now and in my opinion it is second to none. Used Janesville at my old job and at the vollie house before we went with Globe and I was less than impressed. Morning Pride at work now and its garbage. Stitches coming undone, clips and rivets coming out like they weren't pressed properly, and it just doesnt seem to fit right.

Look to local reputable fire equipment dealers and talk to them. Buying locally if possible allows you better service after the sale.

My personal favorites are Bristol Boston Spec, Globe, and Morning Pride.

Thanks for the input, guys. I'm leaning toward the Cairns Reaxtion turnouts. Does anyone have a ballpark figure for the price?

I did exactly what you did, single set, ordered through Paul Conway Shields. Cairns ReaXtion. Total was 2100, and the gear is fully loaded (PBI Ultra outer shell, excellent thermal/moisture barriers, all Dragonhide reinforcements, etc.). But you can get a GOOD middle of the line set for about 1500-1600.

Both of my sets of gear came from eBay. New with tags set of PBI FDNY Spec Morning Pride for $400.
