    Reminds me of a joke...

A federal dairy inspector shows up at a farm and tells the farmer he wants to look at his operation. The farmer takes him through the machinery shed, to the silo, and into the milking parlor. Then the inspector says, "I want to go out in that field."

"You can't go out there," says the farmer.

The inspector raises his eyes, then reaches into his back pocket and produces a card with his credentials. "Do you see this card?" he asks. "This card says I am a federal dairy inspector, and that I have the right to go ANY place I want on your farm. I'm going out in the field."

The farmer shrugs. "Suit yourself," he says. He opens the gate and lets the inspector enter the field, closing the gate behind him.

The inspector walks around for a while, then before long he lets out a scream and starts running back toward the gate. Behind him is a huge bull, head down and horns pointed straight at the inspector's hindquarters.

"Stop this thing!" the inspector yells. "Make it stop!"

The farmer yells back, "Show him your card! Show him your card!"

if I could get a twenty pack of these and a twenty pack of the yard breather stickers I would be happy. I could give them out to some of the guys as appreciation gifts.

In certain unmentioned Departments in certain unmentioned places they have business-card boxes of these in all the apparatus and in every office from the chief to the pubic hair to the janitor.

Hell .. I carry 10 to 20 in my PPE.

4 posts to drag me in directly .... I'm glad that we're exercising some self-control now.

I really had no interest in posting.

Then don't post. You realize by posting saying you didn't want to post that you are posting right?

You remind me of the 2 little kids when one kid is saying crap to the other one just to get a reaction. When the other kid finally reacts the frst kid says Nah Ner, Nah Ner, GOTCHA. You are GOTTEN so many times that you have to look like the all day sucker from the Bugs Bunny cartoons.

How about just one day you actually do your oh so important Pub Ed job instead of being on here all day. You tell us how busy you are but by the amount of time you are on here during the average week i could replace you with a less than half time employee and probably get more productivity out of them.

We had a meeting the other night and the boys ****ed me off, would I be an a hole if I gave some of these out? I would feel better.

    Do I sound bitter?

You were right Fyred, change takes a long time and causes a lot of headache.

I don't see your name, or any of it's variants posted, I don't see your department name or any of its variants posted, so nice try. No one is responsible for DIRECTLY dragging you in here except yourself, your ego, your conscience, and your narcissistic attitude.

Brother I fought the good fight for many years on my #1 POC FD. Fortunately for me I had some very good allies that stood with me and we pushed through change after change. Enforced training standards, got better equipment, improved our image, and we are still trying to be better than we were yesterday.

It can be very satisfying in the end if you can survive the BS and frustration on the path there.

The deadbeats just run me down and tell me that I have not been on the dept. long enough to try to make changes. To my thinking, they should be proud of the years they have spent, although they have become comfortable with mediocrity, but being a veteran of the fire service is no excuse for giving up being a student of fire. Sure, they have been here a long time, but have done nothing in the last YEAR to make things better, except fight the people who want to improve and move forward.
Of course, they have to agree with your idea of change and moving forward, otherwise they are deadbeats.

I am not sure I need them to agree with me. I am starting to value their opinions less and less all the time.

Is there someone else on here that's been referred to as the pubic hair, or some close variation of that?
