    Default Stinky tank water

    I have a couple grass rigs with fiberglass tanks that we have developed an algae problem. How have others combated this? I was thinking of using pool shock?

    That or just plain bleach. Adding bleach to 1 or 2% and then driving around should clean it. Make sure you run it through the plumbing and then flush it well and fill with water from a hydrant. If you have a big enough opening in the tank, I'd get in there with a clean wheel brush to loosen any debris from the sides of the tank as well. If you use pond water on a fire, make sure you dump it and refill with clean water after a fire.

    What is this clean water you speak of????
    We pride ourselves on having the benefit of thick pond water as a special firefighting coating.
    Even suck some small fish in through the intake screens as pump lubricant. :-}

    Clean Water = Any liquid WITHOUT green algae and/or Goose POO! Apply liberal amounts of household bleach to the tank and recirculate through the pump, while exercising all valves and relief valves. Opening and closing valves does not wear them out. Leaving them wet until the barnicles build up and then opening & closing cuts the seats and balls.
