    Default National Testing Network

    Hello All,

I am studying to take the written test through the National Testing Network for the San Jose Fire Department in October. This is going to be my first written test that I've ever taken, so any advice for a new tester? Has anyone used the Nation Testing Network and if so, what was your experience like and is there anything I should know?

    Thank you,

    FF14!

ill summarize the test for you- when you finish, first thing to run through youre mind "what the fcuk was that?"

in my opinion, the most worthless test. you can really study for.

I have taken the practice test that they offer (had to pay $22.95 for it) and it was really easy. My first thought was "This is really stupid." I have talked to some firefighters who work in the San Jose FD about this test. This is the first time the department has hired out the testing process. From what I've heard, the department is offering to pay some of their firefighters to go take the test to see what is being tested. I have a strange feeling that the department is not going to be using this service in the future. Will give an update after I take the test on October 24.

So, I took the test last Thursday and just got my scores. I could've done better with the mechanical and math part. I am not very happy that I don't know what I got right and what I got wrong. It has been suggest that I wait the 6 months and then go retake it to try and get my scores higher, but I don't know if its worth it.

Where do you find out your scores and how long after the test?
    Thanks

If I remember correctly, I think it took a week to get my results.
