Default Juniors during training in PA

Can a 16 year old Junior Firefighter in PA operate Hydraulic tools only in training in Pennsylvania? I remember a year ago, another junior was 16 years old and they let her use them on a car, but only during training and under close supervision. Are 16 year old juniors allowed to practice with hydraulic tools only during training?

Sorry m8 but it is federal labour law that is against you on this one. If they did indeed let someone do it, it wasn't above board and therefore I won't comment on it, however if they follow the law then you cannot-- it is simply not safe, and therefore it is prohibited.

At this stage in the game you are to look not touch, so simply watch what is occurring so in a couple years you can actually practise with them.

    Sorry.

From what I have read from fire service exploring...

The following standard is the minimum guidelines: Explorers who are 18 years of age or
older are permitted to operate hydraulic rescue tools in a training environment upon
approval of the instructor. Explorers between the ages of 16 and 18 have the option to
operate the hydraulic rescue tools with written parental consent and upon approval of
the instructor. The LFL Parental Consent form can be downloaded by visiting
exploring.learningforlife.org/safety-first and scroll to the Appendix section. Explorers
below the age of 16 are not allowed to operate this equipment. Close supervision is
    required at all times.
