You post makes no sense whatsoever.

I see people texting all the time. Just another hazard for us to worry about while en route to accidents involving people distracted by texting. People are so stupid

I would say no different than a speeding ticket.

I don't think that getting this ticket is going to ruin your chances anymore than I suspect you have prior to the ticket. Quit being a screwup and ENABLE SPELLCHECK!

On my last tour of duty as a Captain, we were returning from a call when my Engine driver noticed a car in the lane next to us texting and drifting over to the point where a collision was imminent. I told him to let the driver of the Audi know we were there...

My driver laid on the air horn and wound up the Q... the cell phone went flying into the air.. we definitely got his attention...

When you fill out the FD's application form, and the question "have you ever had a traffic ticket other than for parking" is on it, answer truthfully... we have had candidates get rejected due to not answering with the truth.

It certainly shows poor decision-making. In an ever growing statistic that rivals or surpasses drinking and driving, texting and driving results in a lot of the mayhem most responders see on the roadway. It will be a real problem for some places where you don't stand out, and maybe easily overlooked where you do.

Personally, I think texting (for the most part) is dumb. Doing it while driving is EFFING STUPID.
