Never. Ever. Not before or during my tenure in the fire service. Ever. At all.

Wasn't even thinking about you when I wrote that, sugarpants. I just tossed it out there.

I will give the guy credit for giving all the deets and his regret level. Most would pop in here and use the ever popular "I have this friend" line.

Frankly, anyone that isn't an FDNY member, or someone in hiring for the FDNY, can only speculate as to what effect, if any, this would have on his chancs of being hired by the FDNY.

My bet is there is something in everyone's past on here that if known may have affected their chances of getting hired. Well, other than the angels who never did anything wrong ever in their youthful years.

Crazy, but that's how it goes

    Nope. Never.
But I hung out with plenty of stoners though. They never pushed it. I was goofy enough to start with.

    Hmmmmm..........
The fire service is about service to our fellow man.

Never. Not once, not twice, but never. Since I was 17 I have been in positions where pee tests are done, and while I have done a bunch of them, never failed also.

It is an affront to me as a retired Military member and a long time member of the Fire Service.

    Yeah. He bounced that check.

I'm not going to keep flogging him. Hopefully he's learned his lesson. If not, the hole he dug for himself will most likely prove difficult to climb out of. But, over time, it might happen in regards to the fire service.
