Looking for some help. Turnout gear allocation
I have been recently put in charge of our turnout gear. The last time we received any new gear was 11 years ago, and it is now in sad shape. I was wondering if anyone has some good ideas on ways to raise funds. Also our grant writer is no longer with my department, and no one has stepped up to the plate. If anyone has a successful narrative for turnout gear grants, I would appreciate any help that is given.
Thank you ahead of time.

Welcome to the grant forum:
You just missed AFG for this year by a week.
By the time next year pulls around you should be able to have a kick arse app ready.
Grant writing is not hard , just requires exquisite attention to details and know how to fit your application to the program.
Spend some time to download the program guidance documents and read through them to get a feel for what they are looking for in your application.
Depending on what state you are in , there may be local grants available.
Remember there are no dumb questions here.
Some of the most experienced & successful AFG writers hang out here.

AS Islandifre alluded to, lots of us in here that can help you and now is the time to start preparing. Have you previously had an AFG award for anything in the past?Kurt Bradley

we have, but our previous grant writer has left our department and no one has stepped up to take his place. I figured that I would take some initiative and get the ball rolling. I have never directly participated in the process before.
