Hey Washington? Wake up! You cannot buy friendship from those who do now and will always consider us to be infidels who should be crushed under their heels or who attain religious martyrdom by beheading us!

Having served in the US Army, to include two overseas deployments, I witnessed first hand, how our own government caters to foreign governments (including dictators).

Alot of the blame, goes to several parties, but specifically the US State Department. Seems like the State Department has sold out long ago to foreign interests.

Foreign countries have lobbyists (to include ambassadors), that continually hit Uncle Sugar up for US funding.

If you are dismayed about what we give to other countries, which could be used here at home, there is only one thing to do: vote out any incumbents that run for re-election in Congress. Re-electing Congress back into office at election time only keeps the status quo. Until that is done, nothing is solved.

    Kurt,

As we have discussed before...This ridiculous foreign aid giveaway must end, or be substantially reduced when there is some justification.

Why do we give all this money to foreign governments and interests when the are so many things we need to do and we could do here in the US to help those paying taxes...Hey maybe reduce taxes.

We need to be very vocal with our US Reps and Senators that we want this giveaway stopped. That's how we reduce the budget and the deficit.

We have reduced the AFG program the last few years, then found more foreign interests to which we give our tax dollars.

    Makes no sense to me.

I believe George Bernard Shaw may have said it best:

"A government which robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul."
Its time for the foreign policy makers of the US to take a good hard look at exactly what "benefits" our current policy is gaining our citizens. I would kindly ask the question of someone to show me, in a bottom line figure, what monetary benefit is being gained by our current support of Afghanistan, Irag, Egypt, Kazikistan, Kosovo, etc.? How exactly is this improving the US economy?

It takes no college degree in economics to see that the exact opposite is occurring..we are draining our own economy at the expense of our citizen's wallets.

If our First Lady is so personally concerned about children's nutrition why does she bother with such an empty gesture as growing a garden on the grounds of the White House?

Although I am sure the Chef at the White House appreciates the fresh produce what benefit does it give to those outside the gates of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.? She should instead insist that her husband reform our foreign aid policy and divert that obscene spending back to the US to fight poverty levels and provide the free lunches our kids need at school?

Why do we spend billions of dollars building new police stations and schools in these foreign lands which only serve as targets for suicide bombers and their ilk when our own first responders (many of whom are volunteers) are forced to work out of hovels that are crumbling to the ground? Everyone needs to take to the streets and start shouting " I'm mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore"!
