My two cents would be to be patient. I applied in September of 2012, and the academy for those who took that test tentatively starts January 27, 2014...long long wait.

Also, keep yourself eligible. No tickets no accidents or you might as well look elsewhere.

Lots more, but those two are big.

Patience, for sure. And, go to the library and check out a test prep book and definitely prepare for the exam, rather than just going in and winging it. it was a great help for me.

Hey Hulk, how long after taking the actual exam did they have you take the CPAT? Do they post the dates based on your score? For instance do people how scored higher take the CPAT earlier?

Everyone took the cpat in a weeks period.

They took the top 250 to move on to the cpat. It was in April.

The last email I got was five days ago telling me my application was under review and that I'd hear back within two weeks with more info.

Yeah I received that same email but nothing else. Funny thing is two friends of mine who applied both got that initial email saying the app had been received but not the test prep one. Both statuses don't say anything about app under review. Guess there are that many applicants? I applied within the first hour

To add what Hulk said earlier, don't get to worked up about what all the steps are after the exam. The whole process takes a long time and your initial job needs to be to score as high as possible on the exam. The rank you get on your test will stick with you the whole way! Good luck guys/girls, do your best and stay PATIENT! It's an amazing feeling when you get the call to attend the academy

If you're out of state is it possible to get notes/video of the seminar?

I'm so ready for this test. Finished the whole processing for 2103, then being told that they are taking 43 to the academy and the head investigator telling you your 44. It puts a fire under you. I'm in total beast mode. Nothing is going to stop me.

Anyone get an update email today? The last I got said they'd respond in two weeks with additional information but I never got anything.

EDIT - Not one hours later it comes it.

For those of you who have taken the exam in the past, is this years test the same test maker as previous years? And if so, any advice?
