    Default DC? Baltimore? Philly? Anywhere?

Does anyone know of ANY septs hiring in or around the areas above? I know must aren't testing at the moment, but anyone know of anything coming up? Some of these places are seriously short handed.

I know Philly just tested, but any word on classes?

I know Philly has a school in now, a friend of mine is in it.

Are you only focused on these "big city" departments? There are many smaller departments in the US that have A LOT going for them, and could provide you with everything you're looking for in your career.

Philly is just a little over halfway through their class. Are they having any more? Depends on which Magic 8-Ball you listen to. I wouldn't look for another class for at least a year or two after this one. Could be wrong though. I think I heard a rumor that Baltimore was getting ready to announce a test.

I'm looking all over, I just stated those cities for the geographical area. I figured "Lancaster, Pa' would have trouble drawing a response haha. Ill work anywhere, but a city atmosphere is my long term goal.

Any small departments in particular you are referring to? I'm also looking for any thing right now.. Ohio has nothing.

Most of the larger career departments in Virginia hire every 12-18 months.

Off the top of my head, I believe that Loudoun County and the City of Manassas Park are both taking applications. Virginia Beach might be as well.

Ocean City MD is hiring until...tomorrow. You need Fire 1 and least your EMT-B though.

Columbus will be giving another test this spring, check the citys' website under Public Saftey or Civil service commision, the 6th straight academy class is getting ready to graduate with a 7th starting in June, not bad for a midwest city, and I know staffing is at or gonna be at a low with up coming retirements
