we recently had a natural gas line put into a neighborhood in my first due, and we're looking to add a gas meter on our engine.
we already have a multi-gas on an engine at a further out station, so we're looking for just a natural gas meter.
The issue is, how ever, that i know jack about gas meters, and after a quick serach of the web, i had no clue what i was looking at. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction of where to start with this.

You're going to want something that can detect a variety of different gases. Abatix has a couple portable gas detectors you can look at. Here's a link to the products: ["http://www.abatix.com/default.aspx?page=item+detail& itemcode=BWTGAXT-P-DL&catlist=74" Gas Alert Extreme Single Gas Dector-PH3]
