We received an ROV (JW Fishers again) through our homeland security district. We have trained with it in pools and performed some obstacle type maneuvers. We haven't, however actually used it in a recovery. Our plans are to use it in the event that we have located the victim or object and the depths don't allow us to have any bottom time. We made some "snares" to place in the grapples of the ROV to try and snag an arm around the wrist for the recovery and have practiced with those some. For my $.02 I don't think it was worth the money we spent for how we plan to use it. We have had it about 4 years and not used it yet and we travel across the state of Tennessee effecting and assisting in recoveries. Spend this money on a nice side scan sonar for maximum effectiveness!!
