    Under Code Enforcement

Priority is given to projects that focus on first time or reinstatement of code adoption and code enforcement?

What things come to your mind? We had our Fire Marshal die in the LODD in 2013 and were in the process to update fire codes, inspection, and start digital reporting. Our department is all volunteer/ pay per call.

Peer review already scheduled for the FP&S. March 31 through April 4. These folks are really working at getting this stuff moving, and they are doing a great job.

Most definitely moving things along. 2014 AFG is currently planned for June 2014 application period, which could be an accurate plan since there aren't going to be changes in the FOA. That's what held up 2013 so long so it came up against the shutdown.

So if our codes are like 15 years out of date and we have lost our Fire Marshal in the LODD that seems to be an area that we can focus on and bring the department into the digital age for inspections and reporting?

Just trying to brainstorm my different thoughts, plans for next week. Thanks for any advice.

Thought Pa adopted codes statewide not by jurisdiction?

What do you want your code enforcement or pub ed to look like in the next five years?

    Who will do the work?

I am currently in the south now. The department is an all volunteer - pay per call busy department.

Code Enforcement is separate and has been an issue with poor fire inspections. Since the Fire Marshal has died the Fire Chief has assumed those duties. Public Education is done by the firemen with some records started for statistics. If able the Chief would probably like to see some type of part time/full time person for inspections, hydrants, and other stuff e.g.

We are trying to update many things including going to digital reporting and finding money for IT equipment. If there is a way for a position, training, and equipment under FP&S that would be very helpful.
