    3. Will 2011 & 2012 AFGs that haven't been closed out yet hold us up from a 2013 award?
    Thanks!
    1) The computer DJ's are due out any time. Yes, you are, but the chances of getting one a getting slimmer. There are more to come, but not many.

    2) Some of us have the user names and passwords for those departments that we help out.

    3) Yes, if the closeouts are not done, it will hold up an award.

    Default 1199 process

Just to update folks who have been waiting.....

We received our 1199a request 6/12....returned it via fax 6/16. We did get a call from FEMA requesting a copy of the check we wrote to the grant writer. We received phone call from Senator's office 7/16 and were awarded today. Hope this helps people see the estimated timeline.

    Good Luck to all!

Can I have it? Not that I have a place to put it but with the armed robberies in the area recently might need to upgrade my ride. Already have CHL and long guns are open carry so that would probably send a "don't mess" statement.

Been looking for a 50-60s era Power Wagon to restore as a long-term goal. Very long term since the wife's car doesn't fit in the garage now, wouldn't let me put anything else in it before she can park inside. As if that's what garages are for....

Actually we believe it has to be returned the military, as we bought it over 10 years ago for a $1.00 from them. We are still researching, the city wanted to give to our sister city in Nicaragua for their FD, but per AFG even if it leaves the country the vehicle has to be removed from the fire service. We are still working to figure out the exact disposition of the vehicle.

I put in for a regional grant on behalf of our 911 commission, to replace and add repeaters in the county. We have very poor coverage due to narrowbanding. A good share of the outlying depts. have purchased a text based dispatching system to make sure we get the page. Has anyone got a DJ or funding for anything like this. I haven't received anything as of yet, keeping fingers crossed!!

Yes : there have been many grant awards over the past 5-8 years for just what you are asking for.
If you didn't get the DJ yet , then your application went to peer review.
Or maybe all regionals apps go to peer. Can't remember.

hit my first big commo upgrade in 07 and half a dozen since with success for depts in 6 different states.
The big thing in a system upgrade is having a plan that is tested out and cost effective before applying.
It also needs to match up with your states interoperable communications plan.

Not all Regionals are reviewed; several should have received a computer denial -- which means if he has heard nothing, it should have paneled.

All regionals for eligible projects used to go to Peer, with the change in funding allocations to the 25% split to each of the 3 types then 25% free for all regionals are getting Comp DJs now too.

Received the award email at 5:05 this am. Can't login to accept or view amount. Getting this:
    "500 Internal Server Error

Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response."

Just a Micro grant for hose that was not in the new NFPA time frame. I'll have the amounts for the PDF file when I can get in, but I based them off of last years amounts for 1.75", 2", and 3" hose.

Clear your browsers history and cookies then try again. If you have been checking your online app frequently and they switched to a different server at FEMA ( which they do from time to time) that should clear the problem for you.

Once again Kurt comes through for the win. $13,210 ($12,550 Fed share) micro grant.

Also thanks to Brian for the assistance with the close out portion.

    Much appreciated fellas.

Has it been a while since any 1199's were released? I have several that got past the computer, so we are still waiting. Congrats on all the awards today.

Might be a very few left Dean but, if you don't have an 1199a you had better be thinking of how to improve your current grant to re-submit or pick another project.

    Default Help with 1199A

    Good afternoon all:

Looking for some quick help. My company was awarded a grant about 2 weeks ago. Ive since "accepted" the grant. Under "manage grant" it still shows up in Red saying our 1199 has not been processed.

Does anyone have a name and number of a person I can contact to clear this up. Ive been waiting forever on the phone with the main FEMA number.

    Hoping someone can help.

    Thanks

Still waiting for a relase of funds. FEMA accepted our banking information on 6/5, and there is an award number on a previous grant award. Any idea how long the average wait is?

There is not such thing as the average wait. I just had a client who had 1199a show up in April and he did not get his award till today. Suffice it to say it will be before Sept 15th for sure.
