Just found the 2nd half of a countywide 2-part regional SCBA, first half 1199A showed 3 weeks ago. Found it on a spot check so probably an afternoon rollout between now and dinnertime...

Did find another FR for SCBA and a pumper out of TN so definitely happy day. Just for those keeping track of getting vehicles funded the 1st application for this truck was 2007. Then 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and now. They didn't get their run counts to us in time to submit for 2012. Either way, computer denial every time, so this was the first year it beat the computer and now is getting funded.

This is the reason a computer denial isn't so much a statement on the application but a statement of relativity compared to other applications at the same time. Truck apps were the main reason we like many others here only charge a small amount ($50 for us) for resubmitting apps for the same project. Sometimes it takes others getting funded to get out of the way so we can get ours. This department's mutual aid is also getting a tanker, 4th submission and 1st time beating the computer also. Worst thing anyone can do is not resubmit after a denial when it's a solid need.

So got caught up with a lot of "stuff" and was unable to check things for a couple of weeks. Finally jumped on the portal today and low and behold, got an 1199 update for a Brush Truck. No idea when it showed up.

Must be the week for 1199's for brush units. Ours pop up a few days ago. We been trying for 4 years on this application. Tweaking the narrative each year paid off.

Spoke with one of my AFG contacts, found out I have impeccable timing as the update was posted this morning. So far no budget adjustments, $135,000 for the brush truck and $11,000 other funding (physicals).

Brush/Quick Attacks go anywhere from pickup with skid to 4dr with rescue bodies and 500gpm+ pumps. There are bands within that depending on the base specs you put into the application but otherwise it's pretty open. Gotten some as high as $180k when on medium duty commercial chassis. Just depends on the need and the coupling of that with the truck & price.

Are they first time awards for your department or did they show up on a previous 1199a from a prior award? If it was the latter, you do not have to print them out, you don't need to do anything.

There are previous awards and that is where it showed up. Others that I have helped with that had previous awards showed the Print Button, but theirs was several years back.

After it's printed and faxed they have to hit a verification on their end that makes the Print button go away. Sometimes they process without ever hitting that on the back end. I've had several that way, they get awarded and have no issues but the Print button is still there.

Found a regional SCBA for a 1st timer host and a 1st timer for PPE (Micro) yesterday. Wonder what today will hold...other than boatloads of rain around here. No complaints, lawn's looking better than when we laid the sod originally and no sprinkler.

Found an Ops for PPE this morning, then a regional PPE this afternoon that wasn't there earlier. So looks like the manual rollout is the M.O. for today too.

I just recieved official award notification for $405,732 to be used for air packs, monitors and PPE. Thank the good Lord, this department sorely needed it!
