Default Quick Medical Question. NEED HELP

I can't seem to find any clear information about this but I just started the process for a department and upon further research found that their vision requirement is 20/30 corrected and 20/100 uncorrected.
My question is if I wear contacts and have 20/20 corrected vision does it really matter about the uncorrected or is it some how waived. I've read some where that if you wear soft contacts the vision could be waived as long as you have 20/20 with them in. Also could Lasik be an option?
I could really use some help. Thanks

Not for sure, but I think you are ok

Ask fd's in your area the question. And also show the requirements to eye doctor and see what dr says

    One cities explanation

A.6.4.1(1) Far visual acuity is at least 20/30 binocular, corrected with contact lens or spectacles. Far visual acuity uncorrected is at least 20/40 binocular for wearers of hard contacts or spectacles. Successful long-term soft contact lens wearers (that is, 6 months without a problem) are not subject to the uncorrected standard. Inadequate far visual acuity can result in the failure to be able to read placards and street signs or to
see and respond to imminently hazardous situations.

My uncorrected is 20/200 but I figured it out. I called up the department I am going for and they told me that the National standard is 20/100 but Lasik is ok to get. They also told me that once I get through their background check I get a conditional employment and they offer Lasik before the medical processing. But thanks for all the replies I appreciate it.

So you fail or do not get hired, unless you have LASIK done??

Yeah if I don't get Lasik done I won't pass their medical background. Most if not all departments are like that since the majority of departments follow the national standard. This is what I was told from the human resource lady when I talked to her today in regards to this issue.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get Lasik just because my eyes are not the greatest and the lady told me that once I get a conditional employment I get some kind of deal for Lasik and all they do is delay my medical 3 months to make sure the process took properly. But i've wanted to get Lasik for a while now just never had to money or time but now I sort of have to.
