    Default Kentucky 150 Certification Question

I am trying to achieve my 150 certification so I can start applying to departments while I work towards my 400 certification. Does anyone from KY know if I need the hazmat ops cert for my 150, or if I just need the hours? I know before they changed it at the beginning of the year you only needed the hours. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

It depends if you are going to get a 150 based on hours or if you are going to get the 150 with hours and IFSAC certs. If you are only going for the hours state 150 level than just the 8 hours in T0001 Hazmat Awareness, and 12 in T0002 Hazmat Operations will do it. Once you have the hours, its good for the hours based 400 level too, same hazmat requirements. The IFSAC HMA and HMO certs are required for the IFSAC FFI certification but it removes any required hours to have from the 150/400 levels. Personally I would suggest you get both the required hours and the IFSAC certs.

Thanks, that's the plan now. I was just curious.
