I wouldn't necessarily say that. Depends on what you want done. You can probably get any major apparatus manufacturer to refurb and remount one.

Can probably find folks that will work on them as well.

Management is making sure things are done right. Leadership is doing the right thing. The fire service needs alot more leaders and a lot less managers.

"Everyone goes home" is the mantra for the pussification of the modern, American fire service.

Comments made are my own. They do not represent the official position or opinion of the Fire Department or the City for which I am employed. In fact, they are normally exactly the opposite.

I absolutely agree with this. My former career FD had a Pirsch 110 foot aerial ladder and LONG after Pirsch went under the ladder needed some repairs. We did have to take the ladder truck to the east coast to get the work done, but there was someone more than willing and able to do the repairs.

Concurred. What I meant to say was if you want product support from ALF, schit in one hand and wish in the other and see which gets filled first.

Talked to a Smeal factory rep the other day. He told me that if all goes to plan, new Snorkels will again be able to be purchased.

Smeal is stepping up and giving folks a run for the money.
