I live in Hall County which is relatively close and was thinking about taking the test but the commute would really be a b$#^$. I'll consider it some more.

Probably at least 30 per class and 2 classes from the list. Maybe more. There are a bunch of retirements in the next few years, so we should be hiring pretty steadily.

Now accepting applications! No experience necessary. Excellent opportunity to get on with a great department.

I don't believe Georgia accepts out of state certs, but get that national registry. It'll be fairly easy to transfer it to Georgia. Also, we are in need of medics. So if you have a clean background and test well, you should be good.

You would not have to go through the whole academy either. Just fire side then you'd be put in the field.

I was hired with a dpt up north but unfortunately had to turn it down (baby on the way). They told me that they would give me time to take the national registry after the academy. Was wondering if this dpt would do the same. Thanks for the quick response!

I would think they might do that. You would be paid base and when you got your medic, you would receive medic pay. However, I don't know. So I would ask a recruiter.

    Two more days.

This new round will give preference to those with EMS and Fire Certs. They are trying to get 12-15 people to join the current class before they graduate in May. It'll be 6 weeks long for lateral entry.

After that, a new full academy of 20 to 30 will be formed and start in May.

I was invited, but used my previous test scores to re-apply.

I can't find the email but I was either 91 or 92 range. In Cobb you normally only get to take it once and if you're disqualified, you normally can't reapply. I had strange circumstances and made it as far as passing the polygraph and psych exam last year, then got knocked out right before interviews and recruit class.

Scores are out. Anyone know how many actually tested or the highest score?
