Default Officer tests: What might one find on a typical written test?

I'm working with a neighboring volunteer department to develop some form of a written test for officer positions. My current department does not have this, so I am not familiar with what to provide advice with. Does anybody have any written test examples or advice on what should be included?

The typical rank structure found around here is as follows

    FF<LT<CAPT<ASST CHIEF<CHIEF

    FF<SG<LT<CAPT<ASST CHIEF<CHIEF

I did a search here but all I can find is just qualifications type stuff or requirements. I need to know what one might actually be presented with on a test. I know much of the information is probably specific to departments, but I know there are some parts of the test that are generalized.

I guess a good start would be the tests taken to get from the bottom position ff to the first officer position.

    Thanks
