    Default DCFD is opening again finally for entry level Firefighter/EMT-B

    after 7 seven years they are starting a new list...no past training required...good luck to all....

    If they are giving pref to dc residents and vets . You can get a perfect score and not have chance If I'm reading the ad correctly

    You're not reading it correctly, then.

    If you're a non-resident or non-veteran, and you do remotely well on the written, you have a good chance.

    Understand that you're not competing with 10,000 people. The cap is the first 1,500 applicants. I would venture to say the LARGE MAJORITY that will make up that 1,500 will be non-residents. No doubt.

    It's going to be interesting if only 1500 people can register to take the exam . I wonder if it starts at midnight on May 20 ?

    They will probably specify before then what time it will open up. But, definitely, I would be sitting at my computer and when the minute strikes I would definitely get my application in then.

    If I'm not mistaken LAFD did the same type of limited open application a few months ago. I believe they only accepted a few hundred but if you didn't apply within the first couple hours, you didn't even get a chance to apply.
