In 1951 the Hillendale Volunteer Fire Department in Maryland donated a truck to a few men that wanted to form a fire department. That's when the Virgilina Volunteer Fire Department was formed. I have sent letters to the department with no responce and have called the departments number with no response. I would like to talk with some of the old timers there and see if any of the members that were involved in the donation are still around. Any help would be appreciated.

By the way the truck that was donated (1929 Brockway)is still in the county. Gary Slagle, son of charter member Jack Slagle, still ownes the truck and has it on display at their place of business.
