Hey DF, I want to congratulate you for being named by USA Today as the most dangerous city in America! Don't worry though, Youngstown wasn't far off at 22nd. (Can I add Cleveland to my list?...I forgot that one)

    The city next to us........

We can dirty their hose and strip their trucks, then go back to bed.

    Ahhhh, mutual aid.

We don't do much mutual aide so the next best would be 2nd ladder or 3rd engine at someone elses' still territory.

If I was not on Boston, I would have to say.
    Chicago
    Baltimore city
    San Fran

In that order. But since I am On Boston, I can tell you there is no better dept in the world!

    Well this is a tough one but, my chioces are;
    FDNY
    Boston
    Chicago
    Youngstown
Although I liked the mutail aid idea. Reminds me of some of the Truck calls I've went on. We didn't lay any hose but, we got someone elses dirty. Although we did help them pick it back up. It's good for relations you never know when the roles will be reversed.

Philly....no where else but Philly. But I guess if I had to settle for somewhere else:

    2. Baltimore
    3. Da Bronx
    4. PG County
    5. Brooklyn

I HAVE THE PRIVILEDGE OF WORKING WITH SOME OF THE BEST FIREFIGHTERS I'VE EVER MET AT MY HOME DEPARTMENT, NEW PHILADELPHIA OHIO, WE'RE A SMALL CITY BUT HAS IT'S FAIR SHARE OF FIRES.... BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE AWESOME TO RIDE A COMPANY ANYWHERE ON THE EAST COAST, FDNY
    NEWARK
    JERSEY CITY, ETC.
I ALSO THINK THAT THE COLUMBUS, OHIO F.D. WOULD BE GREAT. STAY SAFE

Without a doubt, the BEST place F.D.N.Y.
followed by Boston and (of course where I currently hang my helmet) Porter (Texas) VFD.
Really though, it don't matter where you work, it's who you work with.

    Be careful out there

Volunteer: no place better than where I am now...Pattenburg, NJ - and it is definitely all about who you work with.

Paid: FDNY - those guys kick butt and they do it better than anyone!
Second choice: Newark...great guys, great pay, lots of action.
Never forget those who went before and sacrified to make us better and stronger as a fire service and a nation. 09-11-01 forever etched in time and our memories. God Speed Boys!

    3. Phoenix
    4. Austin
    5. Charlotte

The last three are becuase they are cutting edge departments which are growing in many aspects. Of course the climate may be a little warm in the summer.
