    Default Promotional Exam Points

Is there any departments out there that give preference points on a Lt.'s exam for those individuals that have an associates, bachelor's or master's degree in an field of study? Any help would be appreciated. If sending email, reference the subject.

The Massachusetts Department of Human Resources, which administers the Civil Service promotional exams for the Fire Service and the Police Departments gives credit for degrees under the category of training and experience. Education, time working in an acting position and special licenses and certifications all have a bearing on the mark recieved for this section. It is based on a percentage of the exam score.

We don't get anything for Degrees on test but you do get a point for every year of service up to ten years on all promotional test.
